(just) can't do it  Not exactly shell-shocked.. but I was quite confident this was not coming ! !! TJs. At our last meeting @ the cafe @ Bishan J8 Library, it was kinda said that Kaili was to be the First Speaker, Jolly the Second ( lmao ) and Alison the Third ( lol ), as in speaker roles, not like.. Kingship heriditary. After the training session today and the debrief, as those who could stay back were discussing meeting times and all that, Claire mentioned to our trainer, Xuwen, about me being a speaker..? I dismissed it at first, murmuring to Martha : Nonsense. Kaili came for the meeting yesterday, too, and she's totally the First Speaker. Uh-yuh. Then, the plot thickened. My mother called. The entire table stared in my direction. I leaned backwards to the max and muttered "okayokayyesi'llbethereveryfast" and had to leave. However. Glances. Were in my direction. Sentwaves from Martha. Something Was definitely up. Indeed while I was practising the piano. The update came. I was to be speaking. ): and ;?) I'm not sure how I'm going to do I don't think there is an option out of this I sincerely and deeply and honestly and really really think that peers MARTHA, SHARON LIM, YVETTE and SWEE EN be given the.. umm.. opportunity.. to speak as well. Martha was really really nice to me. Still is. So, edit Martha is really really really NICE! to me. And so is Sharon, both of them stayed back for me, and even later than I did, though they didn't have to All of them have also been like giving me encouragement and we're a team, and all I'm so freaked also That this will turn into. You know. Politics. Been hearing so much about the term "Playing Politics".. Feeling and so confused that I'm indirectly doing that.. Sorry if this is seeming like such a controversial post..Like taking away their chance to speak in the competition.. for exposure or whatever reason.. Martha deserves the chance to shine. No reallyreally I've seen her speak And she can really pump the confidence and articulation and PRO-NESS, BABY! But it's like.. Sigh Now.. And it's like I want to be open so yeah here is like the open time I don't want the '08 Sec 2 Debate Juniors ( I think we're still called juniors ) to have any personal problems with each other.. like suspicion about playing politics and all that And biased-ness cause I want, not just I want but there Should be an equal chance for everyone.. we all have our flaws and our strengths.. I'll go with the flow though Thanks Trainer Xu Wen and Seniors for thinking that I can do it.. Sorry if I don't perform up to standard.. I'm really not very good.. Thanks Debaters for your support and your <3. I need All Of You ! Just don't like complications. God I want to pray for these people : Shirley Claire Yvette Sharon Lim Martha Kaili Swee En Alison Sharon Way Xu Wen and anyone else involved in the competition this coming Saturday I hope that all of us will have enough time for rest as well as to prep our cases properly, that we will have great team spirit and enough confidence for this competition. Be it a big deal or a no deal, it is important always as we are representing our school, and we should all aim to do our best, though controlling the pressure as well. Lord I hope that the words we speak will not be offensive.. unless to rebutt the opponent but will be fluent and confident and well prepared and that we will put our faith in you.. now and always and forevermore and that this step will lead us to greater heights and more experiences like this in the coming days/weeks/months/years. God, we trust you And in Jesus' name I pray Amen "God save the Queen And me too And me too"
