Thanks to everyone, really, who has made Drama Night 2009: Crossings such a success. I was really amazed and I'm sure the drama students from other schools were as well, by the ability and creative factor of the sec fours. They're really awesomee :) and to mention especially - improvisation! Wei Qing started crying out "Oh Gods, speak to me! Answer me! Tell me O Gods!" and it was so funny and clever and witty at the same time and everyone ended up laughing. We all had a great time, thank God I remembered my lines and most of all the encouragement and backing of my friends and SEC 3 DRAMEDIANS! My piece wouldn't have been HALF as okay w/o you guys. Pre-show jitters were FRIGHTENING - wouldn't have made it alright if I was alone. So here's some extra love on v-day :D Thank you Alison, Claire, Martha, Swee En, Sharon Way, Chai, Stonefish, Rachel, Christine, Baby V, Raeann & Roseann, Francine, EVERYONE so super-much for coming down. Dr Madonna Stinson was really sweet and encouraging too. Touched by a few words uttered by she and Mr A :)
Tonight, is truly a night to remember.
And once again I am reminded -
There is nothing quite as beautiful and captivating as theatre.

"I [We] can do all things through Christ who strengthens me [us]"
JGs Preliminary Round 1. SN said: Bring it On! and so it went.
Proposition: UWC, Opposition, Us
Without going too much in the mechanics of the debate, I'll just mention a few things :)
- UWC had good style -> calm, confident; and most importantly a good case setup which did not make us raise our eyebrows (which happens a lot of the time, trust me). I however disagreed with their content haha.
- Shirley had a sudden fiery outburst towards a POI. But a judge liked it - FIERCE!
- Marthadramamama. (Also known as the Singapore Bullet Train.)
- Alison best speaker!
We won the debate :)
Everyone felt it was a really well deserved win. Thank you God, for blessing the speakers with the ability and courage to speak passionately and with conviction. Thank you God, for granting us something that we have worked so hard to earn, and have deserved. Thank you God, for that defining moment.
I literally broke down. There was just something inside me that started the flow of tears - it started, and then all of a sudden it wouldn't stop. It felt like a breakthrough - THE breakthrough. Emotionsoverwhelmedatonego. But thank you to everyone who calmed me down and petted me like a strange animal to be wary of (indeed).
I was very honoured to have met Mr Gaurav :) I have heard all about him of course, and have heard his eloquent style of speaking. But the fact that he adjudicated the debate, debriefed us (even speaker by speaker) and ranked it a four-and-a-half-star-upon-five performance on the whole just made me awestruck haha. He is really wise, and xuwen extended some of his comments in telling us how to improve as well. Of course the other adjudicators were great - this nice guy who assured the speakers that they did well and will do well. Really glad they chose a more equal weightage - style, content, structure to judge the debate so its fair and a definite win.
Also, no words can express our gratefulness to Claire. Through good times and bad times, she has always stuck with SN debate team. Even in TJ she is missing us like crazy! And today she herself cooked a sumptous meal for us, talked to us over dinner etc. Really encouraging, supportive, motivates us all the time :) Makes us wanna do well. Jolly came too haha :D support level was really high today, what with Magdalene (heart!) giving us flowers and a heartfelt note of encouragement. I'm really touched that she did that for me too! though I don't really "know" her well haha. And Swee en & Our Adorable Juniors gave us very beautiful flowers :) Martha's two friends Vic and Stacy went too, and it felt nice knowing that some people (esp in busybusybee triple science!) would come down and support their friends in competitions haha. Basically there's a lot of people to thank sincerely.
Amelia, thanks for sharing your views with me haha :D I think i'm over-opinionated at times haha. Glad the debate sailed by in near-perfection.
Xuwen, thank you so much for your guidance and confidence in us. You, and even Mr Searl and Ms Fazi, have never stopped believing in us. And today's triumph is not singular, but shared with all and by all :)
Still, we must not be complacent - that I reminded myself frequently today. God has recognised our potential and rewarded us, and we must continue to strive - especially if it is my turn to be speaking next! Must have confidence in Him and my abilities. Happy now, but celebrations later :) WE CAN DO IT.
Valentine's Day is around the corner! And what better way to begin by shouting out to the most beloved of posse(s)' - DEBATE TEAM (EVERYONE) I LOVE YOU MORE THAN TWENTY, STAY BEAUTIFUL CAUSE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY VALENTINE ;)
Keep the faith.

Yesterday, Shuqing invited me to her family's Chinese New Year party at her house, which is at Sirat Road (super near Yi Ning's house!) Anyway it's really cool, three storeys. I sneaked into her pretty little gay room (pink walls, self-explanatory) and vintage curtains to give Mar's and Grabeel's gfs a scare! (Shooby-doo-where-are-you :O) And while they were internet perving on celebrities (young stars aiming for Cambridge beware cough cough) I ransacked her closet. Multi-coloured super cute clothes :D
I bonded with her bolster. Or so Flight SQ puts it. It is so LOVELY to hug.
Okay i'm just leeching stuff she said from her blog because I'm so lazy to think of what happened! :D
Chantel left early):
Oh there wasn't enough space (tens and thousands of members of the extended family were lounging around the house) so we took our food from the buffet and sat in a ring on the floor to eat. Then one of Shu's aunt's said we looked like homeless people. And she asked where the homeless people were from. Shu: One from an Arts school, one too smart went to a JC, the other two taken from a zoo. Moira: Megan's the tourist and Manda's the ape.
Aha I forgot where jeannette was from! Maybe the PLW. (Psychotic Laughter Ward.) but it is so infectious, must control. Pun intended!
All watched Jolyne (and co-stars wink wink) in her Christmas skit on Youtube! Link cheesy pick-up lines: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZAtr_SDQLI , ah lians beating jolyne up scene (SEE MORE MORE): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcdqF7CucFw&feature=related, jolyne dates the devil (playboy): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqDFLsk42Ds&feature=related PLEASE WATCH. IT'S REALLY REALLY FUNNY (GOOD.) I am dying of regret because I didn't go. ))): EVERYONE PLEASE REPLAY, THEY WANT TO ACHIEVE 10 000 VIEWS! :DDD
Then we played Bluff. I couldn't believe it when I won the first round! I said 'Uno' on purpose when I had one card left, haha. Moira won the second game (:O) and in the end my lying was so wretched that Moira and Flower had to share my ONE deck of cards :) Shu can't lie lah haha. Manda snatches the cards barbarically after we rat her out. Wethinks she likes hoarding them too.
Sparkles!
Okay cannot keep using Shu's broken english LOL. It's meant to be spark-ler-s. Everybody say it together. Spark-ler-s.
Shu made many rings of sparks and they flew :D but they seemed to burn out really fast! And then we played pepsi cola haha. I have this thing for winning first rounds. Then I die really badly (got killed by Shu when trying to defend HER neighbours.) the second round. ): So unfair. I befriended this plant she stepped on. We were the anti-shubs clan for awhile.
Moira caused some violence on Manda. Some arm exercises.
Okay hope people can get some photos up for me to steal haha :O cause I can't upload.
Today was the CNY party at Keefe's house, which was kinda nice cause Auntie Jesse was a great host, Keefe has his own music room (no shiz) and we watched Enchanted. And it fills you up with a happy little working song. :)
At night was the thailand-people-gathering :O
Don't really know what to say haha. Mindless things, confusing things and mugging things.
Hope it's going to be a GREAT and PROMISING week! V.V.V.Important.
And ohnoshujusttookalookattheDramaNightguestlistandguesswhat..
some V.V.V.Important people are coming
(I) HAVE TO GET CRACKING!
