Of course, Ms Chan emphasized a lot on his multiple achievements throughout his life, of how he struggled against all odds. But it was his own testimony which led us to believe in what hard work it is, but we need to never give up, never surrender .
Support the Paralympics! <3 Though we may face setbacks in our life like his first marathon try at the continent of Antarctica (Singapore's Snow City is not good enough to prepare him for his Guinness World Record!) we needa still strive and move, forward. Yeah. ______________________________________________ I wish I could gain confidence and inspiration from this like Jolyne could, as she was involved in an epic drama which resulted in her sobbing hysterically while shaking the callused hand of the famed Dr Tan. But right now I'm like feeling part emo, part numb. At least the impact isn't so bad because I'm not letting myself feel it. I think I won't talk about it. But it's about my mom scolding me about time management which reminded me of how I'm working in Sec two and actually studying for every recent test that I can but still failing at some stuff. Also about how I didn't practise piano today, how it was my fault for eating my lunch which I "couldn't give a shit" about, honestly at 4.30pm when I rushed back and immediately started tuition at 3.15pm, basically tolerating the entire math session with her which helped me improve hopefully but blackened her mood. And she simply shut the bible and said fine, you don't want to read? Then go sleep. And next time just pick up the phone and call your friend because you are wasting time msn-ing her. Why can't you do that? And don't make it seem like you're the victim here. Stop putting the blame on others. Next time, time manage properly and don't leave your homework for last. Group project? ...so late then do. If I find that you're not keeping up in some areas, I shall have to confiscate this (points at laptop) and your phone, because you seem to be messaging a lot. Fine, I just did. Seriously. There is no point in continuing the tragic heartwarming tale of a mother-daughter relationship like this. Make up your own fairytales, Mummy Dearest. `midastouch  Away with the mundane and right here's all about our adventure to be [b]KAIXINGUOs'[/b] to the residents at the Red Cross Home! :D  Today is a touchyfeely day.(: As I promised! Post entitled; (the)midastouch. Haha. Hogged Sharon’s veeeeeeeerypreeeeetty iT___! Jolyne t__ed her thighs in school today, much to the shock, horror and disgust of Mrs Nath! By the way Mrs Nath kept complaining today about our class cleanliness, hope we can improve our “status” too.. :] nagging is okay occasionally but not excessive nagging and I hope we will not do any more wrong things and work as a class to dress-up the notice boards and QINGCHU THE CLASS! Woohoo. T__cheeee the handphones. Wanted to try bluetoothing (MY MAMA TOLD ME), YOU BETTER SHOP AROUND from Marie’s phone to mine in bio class –ohhoh!- and yes I was successful. Hoho. Though suddenly the music started playing in class LOL, but thankfully no-one heard. Or. I think. :D Oh I do now ~ David Archuleta is cool and uber-talented! He’s Marie’s though. Sorraye(: So I got a favoured “Megan baby”. On a mission to t__hh the hearts and pierce the ears of the residents at the Red Cross Home with our horrible getai singing :D  Joking, lol. Daddy accompanied us on the journey, and his tag said SN Exco o.o as a parent volunteer for our class. He brought along his camera and acted weird taking photos :O wore his Pangster tinted glasses. Bus ride was uneventful, took random photos pumping myself up for the learning experience later!    Once there I took some pictures of the building; it was situated in a rather deep in location, and it had three floors. There was a special air-conditioned therapy room separated from the main building. We were given a briefing in which I fidgeted a lot (oh just let the outreach flow naturally when it’s already bursting at it’s seams!) and teased Janice L., and Li Lin looking like Cindy from Jimmy Neutron! Seriously she’s a clone. But has a nicer character. ((: And, the briefing lady said: “You can touch them anywhere because they will know that you love them.” When the first round of touring the first floor began, we met a blind boy, the youngest there. What was different was that he didn’t look blind; but it was really painful to know that he couldn’t see and would probably be living his life out there at the home for a long time. Some other residents there had crucially serious curved spines, which prevented them from sitting upright; others had cerebral palsy, and had to be tied to the bed. Movement restricted for a lifetime would really kill me; even if music did slow down the process. This lady in red was independent, and some of my classmates were sure they had seen her on TV once before. Admired!  Our group, group Two, began on the second floor (men’s). An old man who simply loved TV and the Oldies (nickname: Professor) could actually calculate the day of any date YOU could name! I immediately whipped out with : April 7 and he got the answer correct with Monday. Wowza, intellectual! There was another man in the same room who kept gesturing to us, until we got quite scared and tried to ask a nurse for help.. he had just changed his adult diapers as well. He was confined to the bed; life must really be a tough challenge for these people. Some of the MEP students (plus Charmaine W. and Cabrini T.) performed for the residents with songs like “Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin” which Moira and I barged in halfway and began doing weird gestures and dancing along with the song (she knew the lyrics but I didn’t!) Haha, they played violins, flutes, acoustic guitars etc.  Where we encountered Kumar, this really cool black guy who is so hip and happenin’. He is a big fan of Prison Break, favourite radio station to tune in to is 98.7, loves The Click Five (Ohh goes the woozy Saacha), watches Survivor: China, Heroes until Episode 11; he thought it was lame, bleah!, American Idol (he supports David.. Fernandez!) and is seriously such a (teen) current affairs person. He’s Secondary One, and studies at West Coast, Genesis International School. We sang Jenny for him until Saacha went: Omg cannot nono okay stop now. As he watched rather dumbfoundedly in his mind I presume he was going “what the heck” but his face revealed no trace of suppressed horror, and he very gentlemanly agreed that he preferred the original track, but complimented us all the same on the singing. Cool-mar, is my nickname for him!  I’m so proud for you, Erina darl’. You’ve finally found your soulmate. :D We initially prepared a couple of songs – Jesus Take the Wheel, by Carrie Underwood, and Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. The first was a high, choir-voice-ish song and the second a rather bland odd tune when we sang it. So in the end, it was the impromptu decided songs that brought the joy and drove the fun-point home! We threw out (up!) random songs like Do You Believe In Magic – Aly and A.J., Breaking Free – High School Musical I, What I’ve Been Looking For – High School Musical I, and finally the Dikir Barat song! That was the most successful one and we had tons of fun doing it! We even garnered two fans; the first auntie said we sang nicely! (: and began to talk to us about her personal life and that her mother came to visit her.. we were so heartened after that, and cheer simply blossomed in our souls at this stage. Erina the solo-ist, haha! My palms were really red and stinging after that but I felt so cheered. How come I’m reminded of One Truth every day? Flower there and the dikir barat song, dance and imaginary drums really brought memories flooding back. As a warm closing scene, we gathered at the bedside of the blind boy, singing National Day songs. It might seem as if there’s no relation at all, but we felt united and so warm and friendly and huggy and we just kept right on singing until it was time to leave. Where I Belong, Home, even the failed Reach Out For The Stars and Happy National Day! (I think Singapore’s forty-two!) was inspiring and well-sung with zest. ’m so glad we had a great time in the end, and I sincerely hope we touched some of those lives there at the Red Cross home. my beloved monster I haven't experienced a real life wedding in a long time! So this is the day! Pastor Carol Ling and Sheto Dazo's special day :D God Bless both of them, and thanks to everybody for making the wedding a joyous occasion for all! They showed a tremendously, super funny video clips :O First was them walking in the park, blahblahblah, and then they exchanged photo albums and opened them! And then.. out popped BABY PHOTOS, GROWING UP PHOTOS and GROWN UP PHOTOS! So cute and funny omg. Pastor Carol had bigbig round glasses when she was a student, a round chubby face and was surrounded by friends! Haha, I heard some guests saying something about her being bullied though. She is so cute and looks completely different from now! Total, makeover! Sheto looked a little scary last time. Haha. But on the wedding day he is really very handsome. The second video was preparations for the wedding, as well as some ritual thingthings. >< Omg I LaughedMyAssOff. Sheto and his 'brothers' went to dance around with little towels which they swung around vigorously LOL! Sashay. Johnny Depp original style! And then both of them had to go through a.. Question & Answer session, and each of them got one "Easy" question correct and one "This is Supposed to be Easy" question wrong, LOL. Favourite local food.! When did we first hold hands~ When was our first kiss~ HOHO. (: So romantic! THEN. Bollywood Dance. Sheto was the Indian guy dancing and Pastor Carol was using a towel to hide part of her face, duck here duck there and DANCE AROUND THE TREE ROFLMAO And then Sheto used the towel, turned it into a rope, and "reeled" in Pastor Carol! Okay if this is romantic comedy I am officially loving it. HAHA. May you both be fruitful and multiply! ! It was really sweet when both of them walked down the aisle, and I listened really hard when Pastor Jimmy and the Chinese translator lady ( who was really fluent and good ) spoke about marriage being a trying but fulfilling journey. And when the Reverend guy was bilingually saying "You may now kiss the bride" Omg! Sheto was very very sweet He slowly unfurled the translucent snow white veil, Fingering the tip of the intricately patterened lace; Drawing it high above her head, He paused for a long dramatic moment Smiling at her with all the love in the world coursing through his eyes An electrifying moment for Carol Heart stopped, breath caught And, for effect He kissed her on the cheek With stunning tenderness Applause and cheers decorated the air with verbal streamers for a long while. And no, I am not getting soppy after watching 27 Dresses, which is a very good show/movie by the way! Oh, whose happy day is to be awaited next? No Kester, not mine for a loooooooooong time, or maybe never! (: collide with me Haha by the way style check, I wore black Pull and Bear pants with vintage button (omg the fly refused to zip LOL), up-to-elbow-sleeved dirty cream white shirt (I really wanted pure white. But thanks auntie Ivy for the last minute rental), Honey and Bee vest bought @ Far East Plaza I remember, black heart necklace from Diva (yes odd name.) and black bangle from Nic-hole my baby E.T. Thanks so much to Swee En and her mom for providing us with -ice cream -transport -entertainment -swimming pool -towels :D It kinda looks very grand in the big picture on screen, but in actual fact everything was just cues and lighting, cameras, and a dash/sprinkle of action. Saint Nicks did a great job, their best and if I had the right to I'd say I'd be proud of them :] R.I. also did a fine job, and their cheer is still like stuck in my memory and perhaps forevermore RA-RA-RA-RA-RA-FFLES!  Teacher, by AnukSchool today was like typical Mute Math Algebra is alright when I can run around like a monkey proclaiming I'm smart cuz 501, 499 =(500+1)(500-1) =(500)square - (1)square =249999 And then I found out LiLin and Heidi had already finished the entire page ); Ballad Project Work Presentation for Fiesta Advertising Proposals was like, LOL. :D Unhelpful group leader Erina abandoning her team when making them do the all-time favourite Gimme More. Inspiring! Oh and I didn't take PE but badminton was hilarious When Erina serves her leg jerks up like Willy (Wonka) Jolly Jerky Jaction. And everybody just keeps missing the (cock). Hence me writing on my hand in blue ink "you cockeye :D" I ❤ Sarasa pens Ink is fantabulous! Spelling/History/Biology Graded Assignment (Open Book) and I haven't studied); Stayed back to learn Science in a funny and fun way with Mrs Elaine Lim, Sharon, Erina, silent Chloe and occasionally-pointing out Esther! We three pretty much disrupted the entire "remedial" bombarding Mrs Lim with questions, lol! But thanks guys I do understand a lot more about the heart. Fine dining. Theeeeeeen we went to the Drama Studio for this Persuasive Speech thing. Christian Chua (who looks a little like Ratatouille! shh) is very emotional and persuasive and outreach-ish. Oh it's called influential speaking Okay well then we had to do this sort of debate thing. Except that we just had to prove that our side was Good, Better, Best ! because it is more convincing Jolyne Amanda Roseann Sharon and me the rather anti-climax one.. still we all ended up laughing with bucketfuls of fake tears. HAHA. Congratulations to One Truthian now Two Loyaltian Xin Ling for winning that book! Nod and point towards everyday's styles the beautician (she is) concocts and creates. 10 unusual things about today: 1 The Sky 2 4 rounds of exhausting morning jog for the sec twos (i'm ill) and How I laughed for a few seconds when I was scared out of my wits about the scoldings in the morning but I don't know how to suppress my natural weirdo-ness and just hit myself to stop being weird because I was supposed to be scared out of my wits 3 Mrs Nath, Mr Awong, Mrs Wendy Lee, (Drama teachs) -away on course, Zhuang Na Mei Laoshi -absent (omg sorry) 4 Relief teacher Ms Choo finds it hard to control the class although there isn't much to control o.o, wears a bikini i think from what LL has discovered O.o and msns i think from what I have observed O.O 5 Xiang Sheng two new teachers "performed" live and they were super farny. :D This red guy and this pinstriped shirt guy decided to hold a conversation with the red (looks abit funnytoot!) guy not allowed to use NUMB3RS in his replies. Because teh pinstriped shirt guy said that NUMB3RS are everywhere! And the red guy accidentally said "ling" = 0 but then we didn't notice. Heehee they're still good anyway, pros! Applause. They closed off after approximately 1o minutes of Jolyne, Angelique and some random 2J people howling, shaking and cavorting with each other with laughter o.o, with the red guy losing "Yi Kuai Liang Jiao" for the drink which he almost got treated to. HAHA (: 6 Colleen kicked my shoe to say hi in the canteen 7 The Sec 1 Ld batch love Shuqing. Like seriously. I'm sorry Shubaby (lo,!) for forgetting and going to queue for orange bowl omg wdh so evil and selfish. ): Made it to the grass patch outside the Sec one classes, and some of them were still there swarming over her haha :D and she managed to stuff the money in this fat envelope! We sat on the floor using my handphone as a calculator and suan-ning the money like funky weirdos counting money :D The King is in his Tower! Counting out his money. The Queen is in the Kitchen!
