i seem to be getting revelations more and more often these days.

well deborah came back to sn today to adjudicate and then debrief our team.. she's really inspiring yes. she talks more about the "technical terms instead of the issues" - not just cause there aren't any good issues we brought up hahaha but cause she wants to help us and boost our morale for future debates.

guys, i know the 千钧一发 (imminent peril!) hwachong invitationals are coming. but we can't let that break us! let's face the facts. we, green badge, have not broken for U-14s. and another hard-hitting fact carved into stone, how we didn't even clear AJCs with a decent chance. i'm sure there's some more embarrassing stuff in the middle. but the point is, what deborah said is right. for the poor - we have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. ( of course i don't mean stealing like robin hood here etc. etc. ) and even if we don't win competitions and emerge champions or what, we might just be able to give good debaters, improve our style, gain a little respect. and personally, we'll emerge better listeners, with more things stuffed inside our brains (substance, substance) and well. yeah. additional benefits, 多想想.

前事不忘, 后事 . (learn from past experiences so that they can act as a guide for the future!) we can. what we deserve, we will get. we just have to stop being so pessimistic about the present.

in actual fact, we are not 每况愈下 (getting worse and worse, detioriating.) its this idealogy and psychological mindset we all have. the "i'm-screwed" looks on our faces.

we will not be recognised as a pushover.

but now, what we can do, is to treat every debate seriously. yes. even read the straits times or today cause we're too young for the economist haha. yes. small little steps, guys.

i 破釜沉舟 (haven't considered giving up.) will you try your utmost to help me, us, you? after all, we only have forward to go. there is no point in feeling sorry for ourselves and letting things remain as they are right now. there is no hope in that.

so, if we 人尽其才 (everyone does their best), we will get what we deserve.

one day.

*in my desperate attempt to delude myself that i am blogging for the sake of learning cheng yu as well for the other impending doom ie: ting xie, i have included the above ones that can possibly be included in a reasonable revelation.

yes. the road to respect will be a 如火如茶 (intense and exciting) one!

guys, you have have have have have have have definitely got to watch the movie of the year, 2008.

yeah you've guessed it, the batman sequel : The Dark Knight.

and trust me, and certain movie reviews, it does deserve the awe-inspiring record 9.7/10 score. i mean c'mon, $200 million flooded in after simply five days of screening? fuh-shizz, man. it's really really good.

the best actor award of course, goes to Heath Ledger. even though i didn't hear of him at all before this movie, his skills are truly remarkable. in fact, the second i got home i began researching on the movie in general, and then onto him. he actually stayed alone in a hotel room for about a month, immersing himself in the character of the "Joker" and even writing a daily journal to get into his mind. it's true, selfless, passionate drama. obviously, he carries it off wonderfully. i wouldn't jump to conclusions about his premature death, but i really really wish he didn't die): darned narcotics and drugs. hear ye hear ye extinguish them. well, Heath may just be in heaven! diabolically laughing at us cause we aren't angels yet, haha.
"R.I.P, Ledger! You're actor of the year for me"

sorry to those who haven't watched it yet (what, sitting duck? go freaking watch it gogogo.) this is gonna be short & sweet :D

the beginning development was not so good, the climatic parts were excellent, almost unpredictable the whole time. the tensions were 9,10,9,10 the whole two hour plus duration, but it wasn't boring at all, just kept our eyes glued to the screen. the joker's character developed the most, you could see his mind whirring yet you can't figure out how he works. extremely intelligent yet lacking logic, this villian truly tops the list for me in this sequel. the greatest mastermind is a psychopath. (the great thing is, he didn't die!! didn't even drop into a vat of toxic waste :D)

okay haha. i think harlequin is cool. did you know the joker has a love interest? yep, Harley Quinn. she's like the female counterpart, in red black and (white face paint?) i bet christine will love her.
speaking of that, thanks jeannette (flower mommy :D), newyorklyn, sharon and christine chaotah-bunny (happy birthdayyyy !) for inviting me and JY and C having a delicious dinner plus dessert together. ended late but felt really accomplished :D friends friends whee.

wonder if batman will take over my favourite DC movie series, spiderman :D hmm!credits for images: msn search live, deviantart
check out this page okay guys!

EN GARDE!

to my time management skills(:

hola, i managed to think, get through an entire day of suffocating (un)succulent school (with its obvious vacant absence of moira, gah), complete my notes for physics common test, learn the square dance (thanks to wenen! though we got called romantics and all.) and learn fencing. :D and made it to training, albeit being late, and got half a hilarious debate plus informative debrief.

i shall not ponder how i accomplished all this! miracle, miracle. :D

let's talk about fencing!

its actually 4000 years old. awesome shizazz.
i learnt the beginning stance, which is called the en garde. all terms are used in french, cause it originated from there! there's an L shaped position you have to do, with knees bent as well.
then there is the forward and backward movements, with your feet taking steps (short and long) respectively. its hard to explain but fine to demonstrate.
then there's the touche (i love saying that) which is a simple move designed for "aha! -flourish- i win."
and finally the hard lunge. my legs need to be more flexible so i can stretch them further and lunge a greater distance! haha.

ps: ms anna leong is very nice. so is the funny male instructor who likes holding the female instructor's hand.

so here goes my wonderful afternoon, inclusive of rushing to training to learn about corporal punishment in schools. :D

hwachs, you guys can do it manz. believe in the sole power of your debating soul!
behind you guys all the way (:

geog and physics,
do your best
photoshoot,
walk the talk

there's no need to hide from the truth

EN GARDE (:

am i going to sit on my haunches, bemoaning the fate of myself and my *achievements, or lack thereof?
is this the second debate which murders all passion and stride?
most importantly, will i allow it to happen.
NO.
despite all that has happened recently, i know this is just another roadblock obstacle. and yeah i brake and backtrack sometimes, but i'm definitely not gonna end up roadkill.
"roadkill
–noun
Informal. the body of an animal killed on a road by a motor vehicle. "

situations have caused me to know what is truly needed to run this race.
acceptance
adaptation
calm
determination
passion
as advised by a certain guru (specialised in debating),
may my interest always be fueled by the continual challenges thrown at me
this a sombre yet sincere reflection and (deter)mination-drive paragraph for myself, now
i trust that i am not alone, yet some setbacks i will go forth and conquer on my own.
my only words to the rest out there are,
don't give up.
let's get going
we can't see the end
so we won't stop at "forever"

:O /../ <(:>)

aim: sustainable development. :> (arrow) forwardsmile, aye.

Can we carry on?
Can I carry on?
Let's examine these in not that minor detail.
For we knoweth our tresspasses but heck hath not stoppeth cross'er line.
Into black pits of granite ice and stone
AJCs weren't fated to be.
Some opponents were just fated to be.
Some cases are just fated to be (screwed up)
Sometimes, the people on your side don't understand you
And then they do in other rights
The words "inherent contradiction", "worst screw up", "should have" and a few others come to mind.
Yet the words "it's okay", "it's not the worst screw up", "we don't blame you" and "get over it" cause an eclipse
And all that's left
Thanks for the timely life-saving.
To teammates dnd 1314, seniors who cared about us and bothered to come down while encouraging us, xuwen, a close friend and the great adjudicator who didn't scold us that much.
For friends, random or classmates, for asking how it went
To Raffles Institution and Yishun Town as well, congratulations in your own right
Will we ever bring glory to the school?
Will the school ever recognise the problems that deter us from becoming better, in a faster period of time?
Will miracles happen for us?
Childish desires to simply incur wins overwhelm me.

i'll be rooting for you,
and Jesus too
for freedom,
and understanding
don't let go, dinnie
for every hurtful word someone has said
or any tongue someone has twisted
solutions
will come
and shower upon you
he's here, even if you can't see him now
i pray one day
the expectations will wash away
and you'll be left brighter than you ever felt before.

hey.
i think i'll be blogging a little less here, haha.
just blogged my heart out on the alison FC - oops, i mean the campaign blog meant for her haha.
i hope you'll all visit it! (: not just to read my post lol.
here,
http://votealison.blogspot.com/
anyway, campaign rallying, giving out of souvenirs and stickers, has started. i'm pretty happy with the way things went today, but i'm sure we can do more (right, guys?) yeah so i'mma bringing a snare drum and cymbals on tuesday (if i can remember and lug it to school.)
two things i'm gonna highlight in this post -
-how to vote (from your heart)
-child labour
haha but first, happy youth day!
Y
haha principles of design,
small words,
got you to move closer,
screams:
GOTCHA! attention

be you jolly homey young or old. we're all saints at heart.
:D

okay. so on
HOW TO VOTE, (FROM YOUR HEART!)
today i saw something terribly odd in school today.
yes, a procession of people campaigning. woohoo.
but the weird thing was, not all of them were smiling and (it seemed) cheering wholeheartedly. why?
so really, the very simple message is,
vote from your heart.
don't let anyone's power/position, big sweetly glaring eyes or overwhelming words overpower you.
stick to your wishes, or if you truly feel convinced, go with the flow (of your own arteries.) yeah, i think how to discern who is the best candidate is through the rally styles and speeches (delivered on 9th july). so watch out for what's important, and don't let the rest cloud the BEST!

next, about child labour.

some of the youtube vids are quite scary): mrs nath is like obsessed with youtube. and technology, pretty much. i think she enjoys putting up stuff on edulearn. well the point is, it's really tragic how many children have to suffer, underpaid and restricted (from their own rights and freedom). There was this little boy in the video we watched in class, who had hurt himself badly because he was making some fireworks for a factory. he wasn't even allowed to ask for help, let alone a medical subsidy. the factory simply hushed the situation up, and threatened his family not to speak a word or they would all be fired. such horrendously real cruelty appeared in invisible welts on his disfigured, "melted" fingers - the cruelty of greed, and selfish human nature.

there's a zillion other causes out there, and i know i'd be labelled a passive activist or something if i just started ranting: save the world. TODAY. because you know you have to. ladada. but this one has motivated me to raise my voice, and pray for their inward cries to be heard.

to say that the world is unchanging is terribly off the mark.
to say that there are some things which never change may be true.
like torturing mr koh in math class, although he is a nice man. ^^ or two justice being wacky and funny when bargaining with teachers about homework.
to say that the world is a confusing planet
now that is absolute fact.
some care, some don't.
i hope that there is still love in the world
to fuel the hopes of many.

relevance.

oh this weekend, there is much to do. like the tonsssss of homework. glad tingxie's over. did my best in two days! there's drama journal too. i think i'm pretty convicted that i'm not dropping this sub haha. it's all i've got when i feel like i'm too confined to the world of endless chapters in boring textbooks, plus i get to develop in more ways than one through the lessons. soyup, nothing's changing there. &-) i notice that & is a fish balancing a circle on it's head. ((:

p.s: comments/advice are greatly appreciated if you wish to help me out with (drama) indiv! -hugs-
