maris stella high school performing arts fanfare! Go Nick! Woohoo! -The world groans in mock defeat as they give up all hope of fathoming this unusual die-hard fan.- Okay this is my first ever band concert that I'm attending. You guys should really go next year if you wanna let loose or somethin' (; I recommend the Suka team. Because we girls need to show appreciation for our drummer which we couldn't do without (oops) right? (ticks $15 each) Muahahha. Well anyway. The short skit by the Drama wing before it actually began was quite amusing. They talk quite slowly and one of them flashed his butt for information roflolmao. The two MCs are interesting speakers(; The Symphonic Band was really good. Each piece always began fast and alternated quickly; ever catchy and the sound was simply magnificent. Eh, no joke keh. Another band member gushed the last part one okay -winkwink- And then... "ENCORE!!!!!!!!!!" What the lol ! Disco lights started flashing ABBA's "Dancing Queen" started playing 8 SHOCKING DANCERS LEAPT ON STAGE AND STARTED SHAKING And.. To not let you guess.. Let's just say one of them was very Very Familiar LOLZWDHZOMG:DHAHAAHA. I couldn't have IMAGINED Uncle Yuen Long, Joyce, Jonn and Auntie Li Meng's expression. After that fascinating finale, in which we learnt that "Chewcheepeng can dance!" the discussion immediately riveted on "Where on earth did he practise that. I wasn't aware of.. of this.. at all!" - Flabbergasted parents Eternally proud! Long live the spontaneous "hardcore" spirit of Maris Stella! After the intermission, the CO part was really cool too(: But it takes a while to appreciate and get Chinese string, pipa erhu stuff :D or maybe, -dark look- it's just me. Ahahha! Both conductors were very animated. The podium is your sword! Then there was a Symphonic Band + Chinese Orchestra combination? And it was totally unique and cool. One conductor, one blend of music from two different styles! Awesome, Guess what was the ending... "And I now invite you all to stand, and sing the School Song!!" -gape- -like apes- Gasp. Huh. As one! The crowd rose With many "Hey!"s very unlike those made by Avril And manly but not so deep "Hugh!"s very unlike those made by the Hulk Proceeded to sing the school song (x2) (There was an encore, you see) Omlol so entertaining. I'm so coming back there again! Happy 50th Anniversary, Maris Stella High School! :D Support you always, LOL We perceive our students as seedlings ... These strong saplings will soon grow into strong trees... Each strong tree will be a "Man for Others" with the following characteristics: He is humble and unselfish in all his accomplishments and achievements He values himself as a unique person and learns to value others as unique persons He thinks well He knows when to listen and when to speak He is an individual who is willing to learn all through his life He is creative, capable and has the ability to lead others to achieve at a high level and to take on challenges He is an individual with a co-operative spirit whose main preoccupation is always to serve his fellow men He is a determined and diligent person who perseveres courageously against all adversities He is a considerate, cultured and dignified individual able to appreciate the fine things in life and live graciously (http://www.marisstellahigh.moe.edu.sg/Secondary/mission.htm) MAJULAH, MARIS STELLA PERFORMING ARTS!
