![]() i seem to be getting revelations more and more often these days. well deborah came back to sn today to adjudicate and then debrief our team.. she's really inspiring yes. she talks more about the "technical terms instead of the issues" - not just cause there aren't any good issues we brought up hahaha but cause she wants to help us and boost our morale for future debates. guys, i know the 千钧一发 (imminent peril!) hwachong invitationals are coming. but we can't let that break us! let's face the facts. we, green badge, have not broken for U-14s. and another hard-hitting fact carved into stone, how we didn't even clear AJCs with a decent chance. i'm sure there's some more embarrassing stuff in the middle. but the point is, what deborah said is right. for the poor - we have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. ( of course i don't mean stealing like robin hood here etc. etc. ) and even if we don't win competitions and emerge champions or what, we might just be able to give good debaters, improve our style, gain a little respect. and personally, we'll emerge better listeners, with more things stuffed inside our brains (substance, substance) and well. yeah. additional benefits, 多想想. 前事不忘, 后事之师 . (learn from past experiences so that they can act as a guide for the future!) we can. what we deserve, we will get. we just have to stop being so pessimistic about the present. in actual fact, we are not 每况愈下 (getting worse and worse, detioriating.) its this idealogy and psychological mindset we all have. the "i'm-screwed" looks on our faces. we will not be recognised as a pushover. but now, what we can do, is to treat every debate seriously. yes. even read the straits times or today cause we're too young for the economist haha. yes. small little steps, guys. i 破釜沉舟 (haven't considered giving up.) will you try your utmost to help me, us, you? after all, we only have forward to go. there is no point in feeling sorry for ourselves and letting things remain as they are right now. there is no hope in that. so, if we 人尽其才 (everyone does their best), we will get what we deserve. one day. *in my desperate attempt to delude myself that i am blogging for the sake of learning cheng yu as well for the other impending doom ie: ting xie, i have included the above ones that can possibly be included in a reasonable revelation. yes. the road to respect will be a 如火如茶 (intense and exciting) one!
