the grey screens rolled down mechanically, secluding the couple from the rest of the patrons in fish and co. the two waiters giggled and tiptoed out of the way. we craned our necks like kiasu aunties to get a slice of the action. the bait had meddled with our minds. suddenly, we envisioned dimming lights. the romantic ambience. a velvet, gold-lined box which contained a 13- carat ring. an impeccably dressed fiance and his fiancee. we thought. we thought. unfortunately we beeseeched the waiter to tell us if the man in the blue suit had proposed, but no such luck. not only was it a misjudged proposal by the likes of our imaginative minds, but the supposed couple were.. two men. and they had caught us staring straight at them. by project runway season 5 spree
